New feature in the my-PV Cloud: flexible control with the my-PV API

Our my-PV Cloud users can now access a new feature: the my-PV API. This interface allows for the control of all IoT-enabled my-PV products – such as the AC ELWA 2, AC•THOR, AC•THOR 9s and in the future SOL•THOR – via the API interface, enabling data retrieval and setup configurations.

Who is this new feature for?

The my-PV API is primarily aimed at technically savvy users who are familiar with REST APIs and seek detailed control over their devices, for instance for open-source smart home platforms.

Overview of the benefits of the my-PV API

  • Flexible control: All IoT-enabled my-PV products – AC ELWA 2, AC•THOR, AC•THOR 9s and in the future SOL•THOR – can be easily controlled and data can be accessed without direct access to the local network.

  • Custom control: The my-PV API allows users to retrieve product data or target device control through their own programs or software.

  • Seamless integration: The my-PV API enables easy integration into other technical systems, such as smart home applications.

Good to know

The API is currently in the BETA phase, which means that there may still be changes to the endpoints.

How do I activate the my-PV API?

Using the API requires an API TOKEN, which can be generated in the my-PV Cloud. This token allows access to the endpoints of the respective devices. The use of the my-PV API is straightforward for users familiar with REST APIs and can be accomplished in just a few steps:

  1. Log in: Sign in to the my-PV Cloud.

  2. Optional: Update device software if the "Power" endpoint is being used.

  3. Generate API token: In the advanced settings of the my-PV Cloud, you can generate an API token. Activation may take up to 10 minutes.

  4. Start integration: Insert the generated API token at api.my-pv.com under Authentication.

  5. Query endpoints: Use the serial number and the necessary data for the respective request to query the endpoints.
